I was born in 1952 in Abbotsford B.C. Canada. In 1973 I started working for the British Columbia government as a wildlife control officer, hunting problem wildlife. Later I worked as a conservation officer. All my life I have hunted, fished, trapped and gunsmithed as a hobby, and knives have always been an important part of my life, from my bicycle trap line as a kid, to skinning problem wildlife when I worked as a wildlife control officer, to dressing the moose or deer I hunted for the freezer.

I made my first knife in 1976, and in 1996 my wife Judy and I decided to go into the knife business full time. I make mostly upscale working hunting knives with a bowie or miniature now and again. Each knife is a unique combination of materials. Although I have used many different steels, I have found 440-C to be the most versatile. Heat treated to 57 Rockwell for optimum edge retention and ease of sharpening, this steel has proven itself in both working and collector knives. Other steels will be used for special order, and I enjoy using Damascus for collector pieces.

Standard handle materials include natural exotic hardwoods, as well as stabilized woods, I also use northern British Columbia elk or Asian water buffalo. Most knives will include a decorative spacer at the guard created from big horn sheep, buffalo horn, amber or reconstituted stone. Guards and butts are of 4l6 stainless steel, or brass. Scrimshaw By Guy M. Dahl, and engraving by Kenneth W. Warren or Bruce Shaw is available. All knives come with a quality leather sheath made in our shop by Judy.

I feel very strongly about the quality of my knives. All customers are guaranteed satisfaction. Knives can be returned for sharpening or cleaning at shipping cost only.
