Description: Mastersmith David Anders created this exceptional paring knife. The profile is taller than many paring knives, allowing it to be used both for slicing and chopping. The blade, bolster, and tang are all forged from a single piece of 5160 carbon steel round bar. Creating integral knives is particularly hard and shows a tremendous amount of skill. The blade was forged to shape and distal tapered for optimal balance. A differentially heat treatment results in a softer, supportive spine, with a super-hard, long lasting, razor sharp edge. The bead blasted finish makes food less likely to stick to the sides of the knife while cutting. The African blackwood handle swells gently into the palm for a sure grip that continues to feel comfortable after hours of work. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
