Description: Chateau Laguiole salutes Enrico Bernardo. At the age of 20, Bernardo was crowned the best sommelier in Italy, the youngest ever winner of the World's Best Sommelier competition. The determined young Italian beat out 42 challengers to capture this prestigious prize. As chief sommelier of the legendary “Le Cinq” restaurant in Paris he is responsible for a wine cellar with more than 2,000 different labels from every corner of the globe.
The Chateau Laguiole "Master Sommelier" series honors the winners of the "World's Best Sommelier" taste-offs, held every 3 years. Each winner is invited to Chateau Laguiole's workshops to select their "signature" corkscrew handle and leather case. The Foil Cutter blade on each corkscrew of this model is laser engraved with a unique serial number, identifying the individual corkscrew.
For his signature corkscrew, Bernardo selected black lacquer inlay, distinctive filets and gold detailing on the bolster, and a vertical contrasting gray leather snap case. The traditional bee on the spine is stylized. A hefty, quality piece.
Manufactured in France, Chateau Laguiole synthesizes French know-how, good taste and the French art of living. Hand crafted in Thiers, France.
