Description: Bladesmith Mardi Meshejian is best known for his highly original art knives. Here, he has put his hand to making a one-of-a-kind slicing knife. The results are exceptional.
From carving roasts to cutting large vegetables and fruits, this slicer's long blade is a great choice. Particularly well suited to slicing roasts and hams.
The damascus blade was hand forged from 1095 and 4130 carbon steels, the many layers creating a dramatic wood grain texture on the sides. Mardi drew his inspiration for the shape of the blade from the seax, the versatile weapon-come-tool of the Normans and Vikings up until the 12th century. The handle has been meticulously carved and provides both an excellent grip and a dramatic appearance. A sterling silver guard has been textured and antiqued.
