Description: Master Smith Henry Torres had the opportunity to work under renowned bladesmith Bill Burke in the spring of 2006. Their friendship has flourished since. This opportunity allowed him to best understand Bill's techniques of heat treating and implementation, which result in a level of edge holding rarely found elsewhere. Henry heat treated this blade using the same technique -- creating a differentially heat treated blade with a hard edge and softer, supportive spine. The result is exceptional.
The slicing blade is well suited for portioning steaks and slicing poultry. The blade was forged from 52100 carbon steel -- a steel that many knifemakers and collectors feel to have the highest performance found anywhere. Stabilized buckeye burl scales have tremendous swirling grain and a nice mix of dark and light tones. A full tang construction ensures durability and integrity. Mosaic pins complete the handle. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
