Description: Bruce Barnett is a Western Australian knifemaker living in the hills of Perth. It is from the rolling plains of his home country that this carving set takes its name. Bruce is one of the fine Australian makers who is drawing the attention of the knifemaking world to the wealth of stunning native Australian woods. Bruce's attention to detail and elegance shines through this elegant carving set.
Great for carving roasts and fowl, this carving set contains an 8 inch slicing knife and fork. Both knife and fork are formed from stainless damascus steel forged by Chad Nichols. The elegant calypso pattern shows well on both. The knife features a dramatic recurve, capable of producing slice after perfect slice. The accompanying carving fork features undulating tines which provide perfect grip when carving meats.
Each handle has long, elegant lines and is finished to bring out the natural beauty of the Australian birdseye sheoak wood grain. The warm toned wood is set on hidden tangs, and are tastefully finished with nickel pins. The ferrules are formed from stainless damascus surrounding a thin nickel spacer.
This fine set is accompanied by a handmade sheoak presentation case. High quality brass hinges were elegantly inlaid. The interior of the case is felt lined. Rare earth magnets are set into sheoak supports, holding both knife and fork securely in place. Exceptional work throughout.
