Description: Master Smith Henry Torres had the opportunity to work under renowned bladesmith Bill Burke in the spring of 2006. Their friendship has flourished since. This opportunity allowed him to best understand Bill's techniques of heat treating and implementation, which result in a level of edge holding rarely found elsewhere. Henry heat treated this blade using the same techniques -- creating a differentially heat treated blade with a hard edge and softer, supportive spine. The result is exceptional.
The slender, thin slicing blade makes a utility knife a great choice for slicing fruit, vegetables, or meat. The blade was forged from 52100 carbon steel -- a steel that many knifemakers and collectors feel to have the highest performance found anywhere. A convex grind helps foods fall away from the sides of the knife when slicing.
Stabilized maple burl scales have tremendous swirling grain. Mosaic pins complete the nicely contoured handle. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
