Description: Devin Thomas is probably best known for his exquisite damascus steel -- what is less well known is that he is also an exceptional knifemaker that specializes in chef's knives.
This 6 inch slicing knife is a great choice when grabbing for a general purpose utility knife for tasks around the kitchen. The slender blade makes it very useful and versatile from slicing fruit and meats to chopping garlic.
The AEB-L stainless steel blade is ultra high performance -- combining the convenience of stainless steel with the ability to take an acute edge and hold it (a characteristic usually only found in carbon steels). AEB-L steel was designed for razors, which need corrosion resistance, high hardness and very acute edges. Once you try a knife that is made with AEB-L, you'll immediately understand why it is coveted by knife enthusiasts, knifemakers, and professional chefs. A distal taper ensures optimal balance.
The octagonal handle combines presentation grade cocobolo with jet black micarta. The black micarta nicely complements the dark tones in the cocobolo.
