Description: Of the many makers that create Laguiole-style knives, Fontenille Pataud is generally regarded as the best. Each knife is handmade to precision specs and is a work of visual and textural art. All of Fontenille Pataud's knives are made in their workshop in Thiers, France. Their team is comprised of eight skilled craftsmen and apprentices. Gilles Steinberg, owner and master craftsman, manages the group. Keeping the company's size small and employing only the best cutlers keeps the quality and exclusiveness of these knives at a premium level.
This beautiful cheese knife set is expertly crafted. The blades are forged and hand finished from a single piece of Z40C13 stainless steel, the customary Laguiole bee set proudly on the bolster. The top of the knife, including the tang and part of the spine, are hand chased with a file in a pattern unique to the knife. The snakewood scales are secured to the tang with stainless steel pins.
This handmade cheese knife set comes in an oak presentation box, ensuring that the set will not only be superb when used in the kitchen, but will delight your guests at the dinner table. Also included is a certificate of authenticity. This makes a wonderful gift that will last a lifetime!
