Description: Over the last few years, Mastersmith Aaron Wilburn, a long time maker of knives for the outdoor enthusiast, has expanded his focus to include culinary knives - creating high-performing kitchen workhorses! This elegant chef's knife is sure to become a cherished primary chef's knife. The long blade is perfect for a rocking chop with plenty of finger clearance over a cutting board. Whether chopping tomatoes, onions, or slicing meat, this knife is a perfect choice. This knife was kept in a private collection since it was made and was meticulously cared for. By all appearances it is in brand new unused condition and Wilburn could have made it yesterday.
The 9-3/4 inch damascus blade incorporates 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels, forming intriguing twist pattern damascus with beautiful clarity and contrast.
The handle is formed from premium snakewood with a sheep horn bolster. The warm brown toned wood has darker striations that are spectacular. Snakewood with this clarity and regularity is particularly rare. The handle swells nicely toward the front midsection of the handle, moving into a slimmer waist and finally swelling at the beak end of the handle. The knife has great balance and feels exceptional in the hand.
Excellent fit and finish throughout!
