Description: A kitchen utility knife is between a chef’s knife and a paring knife, with a narrower and straighter blade. This makes it perfect for a multitude of small tasks where more precise cuts are needed, such as trimming broccoli, green beans, or other smaller vegetables. Some cooks like to use it in their hand, too—almost like a large paring knife. Others like its smaller size as an alternative to the chef’s knife. Utility knives are sometimes called sandwich knives because they work well on almost everything that goes into a sandwich—from thin-skinned vegetables such as tomatoes, to meats and cheeses.
Cliff Parker is best known for his elegant, small folders. When he put his hand to making kitchen utilities, the results are truly exceptional.
The 4-3/4 inch long, slender blade is formed from Cliff Parker's damascus. The patterns show Cliff's exceptional control in the forge. The pattern immediately grabs attention from a distance. Both the blade and full tang are distal tapered for a perfect balance. The blade geometry is beautifully thin and will be tremendously high performing.
The handle is made from presentation grade Arizona desert ironwood. The wood has a nice mix of warm and dark tones. Black fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes.
Exceptional work throughout!
