This is my workhorse in the kitchen. It is so superbly balanced that it feels like a much lighter knife than it is. The handle is comfortable and the spine, while not fully rounded, does seem to have been slightly beveled so there isn't quite that callous forming edge. It's there, but not nearly as bad as other knives I've had.
My one complaint is that the factory edge, which is utterly superb, is too good for a knife with this hrc. It ships with a 30 degree mirror polished edge which is absolutely wonderful to cut with, particularly if you are used to the ~45 degree edges most German knives come with. However the steel is too soft to maintain that edge without frequent honing, so be sure to use a steel frequently.
