That's what I call it, My Little Big Knife. I bought it just for fruit, which I serve with every meal and sometimes it's not worth the bother to use and then clean a bigger knife and my favorite 3" paring is a little on the short-side for this; so I thought 120mm would be just right.
Daniel at EE really spoke highly of the Ikeda knives so I thought sure-fine-I'm sure it'll be okay anyway. Gosh was I startled, it's really comfortable in the hand, warmer to the touch than other knives I have with the western handle design but the blade is very, very sharp, stout at the handle and tapering progressively to very thin. Cut up a baguette, fruit or meat, this little one can do a much bigger job than I'd ever intended it for. But it looks so normal and is so much more than anything in it's category that I've ever used. I already have several gyuto's, most of which I absolutely can't part with and I'm already thinking of getting an Ikeda 210mm gyuto just because I love this knife so much.
