I have been using this knife for a year and a half, and it is the one I always reach for first. It is very thin and light (and very beautiful), and is at the other end of the spectrum from the Yoshikane hammer-finished gyuto I also own. The incredibly thin, very end of the tip wore down quickly, but you would never know it seeing the knife today. It occasionally picks up a small chip in the edge (I've had a couple), but these sharpen out easily. All in all, great design, great geometry, excellent steel and edge.

I also own a Yoshikane Santoku - 6 1/2 in. (165mm) which I love but needed something a little longer and with geometry more like a western chefs knife to allow for a better rocking motion. This knife feels like an extension of your hand, wonderfully balanced and razor sharp.
