This knife is not only very sharp (and stays that way for a long time) but it is also a beauty.
The blade's “Hammer-finished” pattern is really special. It is both beautiful and functional.
The knife is well balanced (size, blade thickness and weight) but I think it is a bit too small.
The shape is more like a very short Gyuto rather than a Santoku (at least the one I got, the knife on the web looks a bit better).
If I should buy another Santoku (with Japanese handle) I would go for the Kumagoro Item # 83670 (about the same price) or, if I could afford, the Shigefusa Suminagashi Item # 1424 (a bit larger).
As with everything I bought from epicedge.com, it was delivered well-packed and very fast (4 days to my home in Sweden). Their service is excellent and in a class of its own.
