Description: This chef's knife was made by Gabriel Mabry (Doberman Forge) of Albemarle, North Carolina. Gabriel has a wide variety of skills from his background as a USMC marine, professional chef, restaurant owner, and certifed welder. He uses these skills to make knives that will serve their owners for a lifetime just like his loyal family pet that his forge is named after! Gabriel also became a Forged in Fire champion in the September 15, 2017 episode of the acclaimed TV series!
This high performance chef's knife is a perfect choice as a primary knife in the kitchen. The long, deep-bellied blade is well suited for chopping vegetables and slicing meats. The gentle arch of the cutting edge is perfect for a rocking chopping motion with plenty of finger clearance over a cutting board. This chef's knife is particularly tall, making it perfect for those with larger hands or those who prefer a longer life out of their blade.
The 8-3/4 inch blade is made from Gabriel's own River Delta pattern damascus, forged from 1080 and 15n20 carbon steels. The pattern is is engaging and will pull you in for closer examination. The spine and choil have been nicely rounded for comfort. Because this knife is made from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to oil the blade and stabilized wood handle.
The ambidextrous octagonal handle is made from dyed box elder. The swirling figure of the wood nicely compliments the damascus blade. A ferrule is formed from a synthetic resin that combines many different colorsfor a unique look. A G10 spacer seals the front of the handle and bolster finish the handle. Like other knives, this knife should not be put in the dishwasher.
