Description: Brian Tighe creates unique, functional and visually appealing knives of the highest quality. His blades are the result of 25 years of experience in metallurgy artistry and tactical expertise. Recently, he decided to put his hand to creating uniquly dramatic, high performance chef's knives and the results are exceptional.
This high performance chef's knife is a perfect choice as a primary knife in the kitchen. The long, deep-bellied blade is well suited as a general purpose chef's knife. Whether slicing, chopping, mincing, or dicing, this comfortable knife will do it all. The gentle arch of the cutting edge is perfect for a rocking chopping motion with plenty of finger clearance over a cutting board.
The 8 inch blade is made from RWL-34 stainless steel. RWL-34 is a premium powder metallurgy cutlery steel manufactured by ERASTEEL in Söderfors, Sweden. Because it is made from rapidly solidified powders, the microstructure of the steel is much more uniform. This gives the steel higher strength and resistance to cracks and chips. A meticulous hand rubbed satin finsh lends an heirloom quality to the knife. The nimble blade is distal tapered, ensuring a perfect balance.
The handle is machined from Yellow/Green FatCarbon carbon fiber composite. This dramatic composite material creates a damascene pattern using thin layers of ceramic and carbon fiber. This results in a beautiful chatoyancy that reflects light exceptionally. The handle is inspired by traditional Japanese chef's knives and is extremely comfortable, even when used for hours at a time. By 3D machining the sides of the handle, Tighe has ensured a non-slip grip.
The chef's knife is sure to be a kitchen favorite!
