Description: Argentinian knifemaker Mariano Yannoni is creating some spectacular knives. Born in 1974, Mariano is proud to belong to a generation that has brought back custom knifemaking to his country. Mariano studies under renowned master knifemaker Miguel Ángel Gugliotta. Yannoni's knives are expertly made and show a tremendous level of craftmanship. He brings his skills to knives designed for the outdoors, daily carry, and the kitchen.
This Upswept Skinner features a hand forged blade combining a high performance 1095 carbon steel core with 420 stainless steel sides. A forge finish at the top of the blade and the dramatic transition line between the two steel makes this blade a real head turner. A high flat grind ensures this knife makes a particularly effective cut. Because this knife is made from carbon steel, we recommend oiling the blade after use with camellia oil.
Arizona desert ironwood and maple burl handle scales are set on stainless steel spacers. The tang is enclosed by black G-10, ensuing durability with rust prevention. The hand contoured handle is extremely comfortable and provides a sure grip.
Making it easy to keep this knife close at hand, Yannoni included a custom, hand stitched leather sheath.
Exceptional work throughout!
