Description: Twenty-two year old bladesmith Will Stelter is among the most promising and most well known knifemakers in the industry. He's been making knives since he was 13 years old and in that short time has developed skills that rival those with triple the years of experience. Originally a local maker from Kirkland, Washington, Will moved out to Montana to begin a full time knifemaking career right after high school. He has spent a large amount of time traveling the world and learning from many of the greatest makers anywhere. He is also well known through his work with Alec Steele on their highly successful YouTube channel. Will received his journeyman smith credentials at the 2022 Blade Show. Will is creating some of the finest kitchen knives found anywhere!
This 8-1/4 inch chef's knife is extremely light and nimble. It will be a perfect choice as a primary knife in the kitchen. The blade is well suited for slicing vegetables, meats, and more. The gentle arc of the cutting edge is perfect for a rocking, chopping motion with plenty of finger clearance over a cutting board. This nimble knife is sure to become your kitchen favorite.
The blade is hand forged from Will's own multi-bar damascus, combining carbon steels to ensure excellent edge holding and chip resistance. The fine pattern is high contrast and immediately captivating. The spine and choil have been rounded for a comfortable pinch grip. The blade is flat ground and razor sharp. The blade has thin geometry for high performance cuts. Because the blade is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to oil the blade and natural wood handle.
The handle is sculpted by hand from African blackwood. African blackwood is one of the densest woods in the world, highly prized for its jet black appearance. It will hold up exceptionally to the harsh demands of a professional kitchen. The front of the handle is sealed with an heirloom fit damascus bolster. This knife is so comfortable, you won't want to put it down! Like other knives, this knife should not be put in the dishwasher.
To protect the knife during storage, a custom leather zipper case with Will's logo is included.
Excellent work throughout!
