Description: Up and coming knifemaker, Jordan Buckley has tremendous attention to detail. Jordan, who is 19 years old (as of the spring of 2023) is a Washington native. His passion for bladesmithing is clear throughout all his knives. His work and aesthetic have tremendous refinement despite only having been making knives for 5 years. Perhaps it is no surprise that he aspires to become a mastersmith by 25!
This high performance chef's knife is a perfect choice as a primary knife in the kitchen. The blade is well suited for slicing vegetables, meats, and more. The gentle arc of the cutting edge is perfect for a rocking, chopping motion with plenty of finger clearance over a cutting board. At 7-1/2 inches, it is a comfortable size for easy control and will get almost any task done. This nimble knife is sure to become your kitchen favorite.
The blade is made from Jordan's own wave pattern damascus forged from 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels to ensure excellent chip resistance and edge holding. The combination of the jet back blade with a complex pattern moving through it is extremely engaging. The spine and choil are nicely rounded for comfort. This blade is extremely thin and lightweight for high performance cuts.
The handle is Arizona desert ironwood. Desert ironwood (Olneya tesota) is a rare wood that is only found in the valleys of the Sonoran Desert below 2,500 foot elevation. It is extremely dense and durable. In fact, it is so dense, that if a piece is dropped in water it will sink! The handle is finished with an antiqued bronze bolster. This is a knife you won't want to put down!
Excellent work throughout!
