Description: Francisco Vaz lives in Rio Grande, Brazil. He has been making knives since 2017 and is a master of chef's knives. Each knife that he creates is a handmade, high-performance work of art. He grinds all of his knives by hand without the use of jigs and believes heavily in making his knives by hand.
Chef's knives are the essential kitchen knife. They are used for all-around food preparation. This nimble knife is influenced by traditional Japanese knives. The arc of the blade edge is perfect for a rocking chop or a slicing cut. The slim profile keeps the weight low and the balance just right. Whether slicing, chopping, or dicing, this nimble chef's knife is a perfect choice.
The blade is CPM-MagnaCut stainless steel with a satin finish. CPM-MagnaCut is a new premium stainless steel created by Crucible with the help of professional metallurgist Dr. Larrin Thomas. MagnaCut combines the high toughness of CPM-4V with the corrosion resistance of CPM-20CV. This creates a perfect blade steel option for knives that need high toughness and great edge retention while still being easy to maintain. The blade has beautifully thin geometry for a high-performance cut. The blade is slightly convex to help assist with food release. The spine and choil are rounded to prevent hot spots. Francisco's touchmark is on the left side of the blade.
The octagonal handle is ebony wood, highly prized for its black appearance. The ebony is set on a black G-10 frame. A fossilized coral spacer adds an elegant touch of blue set between the exotic woods. Like other knives, this knife should not be put in the dishwasher.
Excellent work throughout!
