Description: Mastersmith David Lisch lives in Yelm, Washington. He is well known for his bowies, hunting knives, and kitchen knives. He has a level of creativity that few knifemakers can emulate. When combined with his high level blacksmith skills, he is able to create incredible knives that are highly desirable worldwide. Over the last several years, David has been creating some of the best chef's knives to be found anywhere.
The 7-1/2 inch blade is hand forged 5160 carbon steel. 5160 carbon steel is tough, chip resistant, and maintains a razor sharp edge. A mustard patina gives the blade some limited rust resistance while helping blend a fresh patina forming on the blade from use. The spine and choil are nicely rounded for comfort. Lisch's touchmark is on the left side of the blade.
The bolster is integral to the blade. This technique creates superior structural integrity, but requires a particularly skilled smith to create in a custom setting.
The handle is a downturned section of premium sambar stag. The natural texture of the antler provides a comfortable, slip-resistant grip. The end of the handle is capped with textured and antiqued bronze. Like other knives, this knife should not be put in the dishwasher.
Excellent work throughout!
