Description: Up and coming knifemaker, Jordan Buckley has tremendous attention to detail. Jordan, who is 21 years old (as of the spring of 2025) is a Washington native. His passion for bladesmithing is clear throughout all his knives. His work and aesthetic have tremendous refinement despite only having been making knives for 6 years. Perhaps it is no surprise that he aspires to become a mastersmith by 25!
This high performance chef's knife is a perfect choice as a primary knife in the kitchen. The blade is well suited for slicing vegetables, meats, and more. The gentle arc of the cutting edge is perfect for a rocking, chopping motion with plenty of finger clearance over a cutting board. At 9 inches, it is a comfortable size for easy control and will get almost any task done. This nimble knife is sure to become your kitchen favorite.
The blade is forged from Jordan's own damascus, combining 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels to ensure excellent edge holding and chip resistance. The high contrast pattern is extremely engaging. The spine and choil are rounded for comfort. Jordan's touchmark is on the left side of the blade. Because the knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to prevent rust.
The bolster is integral to the blade, with the damascus pattern moving seamlessly from bolster to blade. This technique has superior structural integrity and requires a particularly talented smith.
The handle is ringed gidgee. Ringed gidgee (Acacia cambagei) is an exceptional wood for knife handles and is considered to be one of Australia's most beautiful timbers. It has tremendous stability even when exposed to fluctuations in humidity and temperature. It is among the densest woods in the world and has a beautiful curl similar to Hawaiian koa. The handle is finished with alternating G-10 and bronze spacers. Like other knives, this knife should not be put in the dishwasher.
Excellent work throughout!
