Description: South Africa bladesmith Dave Skinner brings an exceptional level of work to his knives. Whether the knife is designed for the kitchen, for use out in the field, or for a collector, Skinner brings a refined eye and tremendous skill at the forge to his knives.
This high-performance chef's knife is a perfect choice as a primary choice in the kitchen. The long, deep-bellied blade is great for slicing and chopping vegetables and meats. The gentle arc of the cutting edge is perfect for a rocking chopping motion with plenty of finger clearance over a cutting board. At 7-3/7 inches long, this chef’s knife is long enough to get most any task done with ease, but short enough for easy control. From chopping to slicing and mincing, this will be your go-to knife.
The blade is hand forged damascus, combining 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels. The laddered Ws pattern damascus ensures a keen, long lasting edge.
The frame-constructed handle is inspired by the Japanese octagonal handle. The stabilized masur birch has a dramatic figure. The wood was double dyed for a particularly dramatic range of colors. Black G10 spacers at the front of the handle are sealed with nickel silver. Like other knives, this knife should not be put in the dishwasher.
Excellent work throughout!
