Description: This Slicer by bladesmith Peter Pruyn of Brothersville Knives is in impressive piece. It is a tremendous slicer for roasts and poultry. The 10 inch blade is highly maneuverable.
The blade was forged to shape from 1095 carbon steel. It is beautifully thin, with an excellent distal taper. It is one of his first integral blades. Creating an integral bolster is relatively common in a production environment. Creating an integral bolster in a custom forge takes tremendous skill. The blade is antiqued for a timeless appearance.
Stabilized and dyed giraffe bone handle scales are set on the full tang. A distal taper to both blade and tang ensures a perfect sense of balance. Stainless steel hidden bolt rivets set the handle scales in place.
This exceptional slicing and carving knife may well become a family heirloom!
