This high performance chef's knife is a perfect choice as a primary knife in the kitchen. The blade is well suited for slicing vegetables, meats, and more. The gentle arc of the cutting edge is perfect for a rocking, chopping motion with plenty of finger clearance over a cutting board. At 8 inches, it is a perfect size for either the professional or home chef. This knife is sure to become your kitchen favorite.
The 8 inch blade was forged to shape from W2 carbon steel. A differential clay zone heat treatment separates a soft and supportive spine from an extremely hard cutting edge. W2 carbon steel is an exceptional steel for high end kitchen knives. A black oxide finish helps with some limited rust resistance. The blade features an S-Grind. A convex ground edge provides high performance chopping with lots of strength. From there, it moves into a hollow as the blade moves toward the spine. This technique lightens the overall weight without sacrificing strength. The combination ensures a high performing workhorse with less resistance cutting through foods that would otherwise stick or wedge. Both the spine and choil are nicely rounded for comfort. Will's mark is on the left side of the blade.
The integral bolster provides a smooth transition to the rounded spine for an effortless pinch grip. An integral bolster ensures superior durability and strength while bringing weight toward the center of the knife.
The Siamese rosewood handle is hand contoured for a comfortable grip. Siamese rosewood (Dalbergia cochinchinensis) is exceptionally beautiful and is Thailand's most valuable timber. This exotic wood can sell for as much as $100,000 per cubic meter. The wood used in this handle is exquisite, featuring beautiful warm red tones and a beautiful burl figure. The handle is heirloom fit to the integral bolster to ensure no sharp sections if the wood shrinks over time. This exceptional knife is sure to be your favorite go-to in the kitchen!
Exceptional work throughout!
