Description: Handmade by Journeyman Smith Jim Arbuckle, this small chef's knife is a perfect choice for chopping in the kitchen. From mincing garlic and shallots to slicing fruits and chopping vegetables, this 4-1/8 inch chef's knife is a great choice for the cook who prefers a smaller knife but wants finger clearance over a cutting board to allow for a comfortable rocking chop!
The 4-1/8 inch blade is high performing 154CM stainless steel. It is hardened and triple tempered to 59-60 Hrc for a nice combination of high edge holding and high durability. A hand rubbed satin finish lends an heirloom quality. The blade is convex ground to minimize food sticking to the blade. This technique is much more effective than a granton edge! The blade is distal tapered, ensuring perfect balance.
The contoured grips are bocote wood. Modified serpentine filework along the tang adds tremendous visual impact. By filling the fileworked section with polished black epoxy, this gives the beauty of hand filework without the hassle of cleaning food particles out of it. A deep choil provides a comfortable, secure place to rest your first finger. The handle allows for several different grips and makes the knife easy to maneuver even with slippery hands.
Excellent fit and finish throughout!
