Description: Martin Huber hails from Austria and is considered one of the greatest chef knife makers from that region. His father, mother, and grandfather all had blacksmithing and metalworking experience which led to Martin learning the trade at a young age. Martin took four years of formal blacksmith instruction in his home town of Steyr, Austria before opening up his own shop in 2016. Martin's kitchen knives have well thought out designs and efficient cutting geometry.
The 8 inch damascus blade is hand forged from O2 and 15n20 carbon steels to ensure excellent edge holding and chip resistance. The blade is convex ground for additional food release. The top of the knife is forge textured. The spine and choil are rounded for comfort. The blade has a distal taper for excellent balance. We recommend using camellia oil to protect the blade and natural wood handle.
Handle scales are a hybrid wood combining stabilized box elder burl with red resin. The scales are set on the full tang using black G-10 pins. Red and black liners finish the handle. The coke bottle shaped handle is extremely comfortable and provides a solid grip. This chef’s knife is sure to become your ‘goto’ knife in the kitchen. It is so comfortable in hand that you won't want to put down!
An edge guard is included to protect the blade when not in use.
Excellent work throughout!
