Meat cleavers are ideal for chopping large cuts of meat, bone and hearty vegetables. Having a meat cleaver for heavier tasks ensures your primary knife used in the kitchen always stays in tip top shape.
The blade was forged to shape from 1070 carbon steel. 1070 carbon steel takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds onto it. It is very responsive to honing with a ceramic rod and sharpening stones. Like other carbon steel knives, it should be dried and oiled after use. The trade-off of slightly more care in exchange for much higher performance is worthwhile to most users.
G-Carta handle scales are set on red liners. G-Carta is not only exceptionally dramatic, but it provides a sure, non-slip grip. The scales are set on a full tang for strength and durability. Stainless steel Corby rivets set the scales in place.
