Description: Up and coming knifemaker, Jordan Buckley has tremendous attention to detail. Jordan, who is 21 years old (as of the spring of 2025) is a Washington native. His passion for bladesmithing is clear throughout all his knives. His work and aesthetic have tremendous refinement despite only having been making knives for 5 years. Perhaps it is no surprise that he aspires to become a mastersmith by 25!
This high-performance chef's knife is a perfect choice as a primary knife in the kitchen. The blade is well suited to chopping and slicing vegetables, meats, and more. The gentle arc of the cutting edge is perfect for a rocking, chopping motion with plenty of finger clearance over a cutting board. At 8 inches, it is a comfortable size for easy control and will get almost any task done. Whether chopping, mincing, dicing, or slicing, this nimble knife is sure to become your kitchen favorite.
The blade is hand forged 1084 carbon steel and features a meticulous hand rubbed satin finish. 1080 carbon steel is tough, chip resistant, and maintains a razor-sharp edge for a long time. The blade is ground beautifully thin for high performance cuts. The spine and choil are nicely rounded for comfort.
The bolster is integral to the blade. This technique has superior structural integrity and requires a particularly talented smith. The bolster is carved to encourage a comfortable pinch grip.
The handle is Arizona desert ironwood. Desert ironwood (Olneya tesota) is a rare wood that is only found in the valleys of the Sonoran Desert below 2,500 foot elevation. It is extremely dense and durable. In fact, it is so dense that if a piece is dropped in water it will sink! Because this knife is made from carbon steel, we recommend using camellia oil to avoid rust and oxidation. Like other kitchen knives, this knife should not be put in a dishwasher.
Excellent work throughout
