I got this for my wife a couple years ago, and it has supplanted our 240mm gyuto as her everyday knife. We have carbon steel and VG10 knives, nice stuff, but the Akifusa PM nakiri holds its edge noticeably longer than everything else on the wall, although it's not magic and still needs honing and the occasional sharpening. The edge is thin but tougha friend knocked it against the lip of a pot to dislodge some veggies and it bent a little, but didn't chip, and I was able to fix it using waterstones. That would not have been the case with some of our other blades. It's the fourth Akifusa PM in my social circle, and I'm considering buying it again for that friend I mentioned.

Excellent lightweight knife (1/21/2017)
Fantastic edge, and has been holding it pretty well for over 6 months. Very useful for chopping vegetables and even nuts. Very lightweight and fits well in small hands.

Definitely the lightest of my knives. I find it great for vegetables. Slices will still stick to it often but it's a lot easier to remove them than my European knives. Great for those who prefer a lighter knife or for jobs that don't require heft.
