Description: This exceptional handmade slicing knife is the work of knifemaker, John Leitch. From carving roasts to cutting large vegetables and fruits, this slicer's long slender blade is a great choice. Particularly suited to slicing roasts, hams, and cake.
The ATS-34 stainless steel blade was heat treated by Paul Bos to Rc 59 and will have exceptional edge holding. Leitch is well known for his deeply acid etched blades. The etching is both visually exciting and provides a surface that resists sticking to the food being chopped. The blade was etched to the head of a snowy egret and has John's mark in the etching. The handle is made from white Micarta. This elegant handle combines a look similar to that of ivory with the durability and strength of synthetics. It is finished off with mosaic pins and polished brass bolsters. The full tang construction assures a strong knife that is sure to become an heirloom. Exceptional work throughout.
